One of my greatest joys is being part of a community that is collectively moving toward a more enlightened world. The Foundry is a very special place. I took my first yoga class when I was 15 years old from Cintra Brown at the first Bikram Yoga studio in Arizona, now the Old Town location. I attended Oregon State University on a golf scholarship and received my degree in Business Administration. After college I played professional golf, at the end of my career I was left with chronic back pain. My sister Nicole encourage me to try a regular practice of yoga 5 times a week to see if that would help my back pain and episodes of barely being able to walk due to slipped disks. In no time I could feel the changes happening, but it took months for me to better understand my body and learn to use the practice to heal my body. I lost 40 lbs in the first year of regular practice and episodes of my back locking up reduced significantly.
In my fourth year of practicing consistently, I competed in both the USA Yoga Asana Regional and National Championship, placing first in the 2016 Arizona Regional event. I'm in the best shape of my life spiritually, mentally and physically and I owe it to The Foundry. My back isn't completely healed (it may never be) but I am able to live a full life and have avoided surgery for many years now. Most importantly, I have two daughters that I get to keep up with and my practice helps me do that!
I love all the classes The Foundry offers and find them all so complimentary to one another. All the classes provide a total body approach, and each has it's own focus that you just don't get in other classes. To me Bikram is the most complete class providing spiritual, mental, and emotional benefits. Additionally providing high levels of flexibility, strength, and endurance. Hot Pilates is so great for your spine and joints, providing strength and flexibility to stabilizing muscles or slow twitch muscles. Pilates create long lean muscles and hits areas of the body that we just don't usually work with a strong emphasis on the core. Hot HIIT is one of the most effective ways to do cardio, building strength in all parts of the body and is focused on our fast twitch muscles. Additionally, the classes have great energy and it's just FUN! I find doing a mix of all the classes works best for me!

I am always so honored and inspired to spend time at The Foundry! I began practicing yoga in 2004, and found my home at The Foundry in 2007. I became certified as a Bikram Yoga teacher in Fall 2008, and have been teaching Bikram Yoga full time ever since! I am truly passionate about the benefits and discipline it provides. I have practiced through the ups and downs in life - through 2 pregnancies, competing as a yoga champion, through depression, with all kinds of injuries, and in health. I know there are more circumstances to come that I can't predict - so my practice helps me connect to the calm within where I know I can handle anything that comes my way. I became a 200 Hour RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher) in 2014 to continue my education, and also became certified to teach Pilates and HIIT in 2017! I am always inspired to continue studying with my mentors and teachers from all modalities, and always looking for ways to improve. I am passionate about working with other teachers and serve on the faculty of the OHM School teacher training. I have seen tremendous benefits in my personal life and in the lives of my students over the years through consistent practice- I look forward to many more! When I'm not on my mat, I love spending time with my family! Music, travel, coffee, friends, and being of service are what I love.
PARADISE VALLEY STUDIO MANAGER, MARKETING MANAGER
TEACHER - BIKRAM YOGA, POWER YOGA, BASIC YOGA, EXPRESS YOGA, HOT HIIT, HOT BARRE
I started practicing Bikram Yoga in 2006 after suffering a tragic loss in my life. I navigated that loss on my yoga mat - sweating, crying, learning, and growing so much that first year. While attending Bikram Teacher Training in 2008 I met Nicole and Heidi Jo! I have been working with these fabulous ladies for a decade now and they have truly become my family (along with the rest of our staff #foundryfamily) I met my husband at the PV studio and practiced through my pregnancy with our son, Carter. I am constantly inspired and amazed by my students and their dedication to their health. The ripple effect that we are creating in this world is so big. To say that I am grateful for The Foundry is terribly insufficient for the feeling I have for this place and these people.
OLD TOWN SCOTTSDALE STUDIO MANAGER, RETAIL MANAGER, NUTRITION COACH
TEACHER - BIKRAM YOGA, BASIC YOGA, EXPRESS YOGA, HOT HIIT, HOT BARRE
I am not a naturally flexible person, I have to work hard at it, and Yoga has made me the most flexible I have ever been. It has also given me strength that I didn't know I had. I also really love the mental challenge it presents. There is a lot of focus and concentration that this series requires so I feel like I am growing stronger both physically and mentally.
I went to Arizona State University and earned my Bachelor's degree in Nutrition with a concentration in Human Nutrition. I went on to graduate from Bikram’s Yoga Teacher Training in the fall of 2013. I recently attended Inferno Hot Pilates Training in 2017 which has led me to a new passion... teaching the Hot HIIT class - I LOVE IT!!! Having my nutrition background and being able to practice, teach, and still learn Bikram Yoga gives me a healthy, happy, and balanced lifestyle.
PARADISE VALLEY ASSISTANT MANAGER
TEACHER - HOT HIIT
My first Bikram Yoga class at the Foundry was 6 years ago in 2012 because of my herniated disc. I had tried everything to heal my back, but after doing a 30 classes in 30 days challenge, I was hooked! I never did a yoga or meditation class before, so I did not know what to expect. Little did I know what these classes would do for my mind, body and soul. I could not be happier to heal my back naturally and open myself up to all the new classes we have to offer (because I am a fitness junkie).
I graduated from Arizona State University in 2014 and was in the corporate world for 4 years, until most recently when I changed my life to health and wellness! I am a student at Purdue online studying for my second Bachelors Degree in Health and Wellness and excited to see where this new journey will take me. I am not only a teacher at The Foundry, but I am happy to say I am the Assistant Manager for the Paradise Valley location and lucky to work in a place that is filled with so much love!
TEMPE-MESA ASSISTANT MANAGER
My first class happened back in 2016, after years of my mom trying to convince me to come in. I finally bit the bullet, took my first class, and the rest is history. I went from practicing to working behind the desk to being the assistant manager at the Tempe location. The studio and The Foundry have allowed me to have so many opportunities and chances to learn and I can never really express how truly grateful I am. This practice is what really helped me work through the stress of being a full time student at ASU; I know I can always find my mental break within the yoga room. I've met some of the most amazing and supportive people and coming in to the studio everyday is more than just work for me.
SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER
TEACHER - BIKRAM YOGA, POWER YOGA, HOT BARRE
My Bikram Yoga practice began in 2011. I started out taking class a few times each month. One year later, I did my first 30 day challenge, which sparked a consistent practice. Once I felt and saw the benefits of practicing for 30 days in a row, I was completely hooked. Over the past 6 years i’ve continued to practice Bikram Yoga 5-7 days a week. During this past year, I’ve started to expand my practice and incorporate more advanced postures with Power Yoga and the 26 Plus series. Combined with a few Pilates and HIIT classes each month, i’ve been able to balance my flexibility with more strength and improve my yoga practice so much. Bikram Yoga will always remain the foundation for me, but I love seeing the benefits from all the classes we offer at The Foundry. I graduated from OHM Yoga School in 2017 with my RYT 200. I have also been certified in the 26+ Yoga Series and Hot Barre. I love teaching Bikram Yoga, this yoga and community has affected my life in such a positive way and I love to share that feeling with others!

"I love the way Bikram yoga makes me feel. The energy you gain is priceless!", Terri says. "Watching our students grow and experience amazing changes makes me feel good." Terri took her first class in 2004. As a hiker, a runner, and someone up for a challenge, Terri was initially surprised by the intensity of the workout.
After practicing for three years and waiting for her teenaged kids to get a little older, Terri decided it was time to attend teacher training. She spent nine long weeks in Honolulu at Bikram's Teacher Training and received her certificate in June 2007.

The first Bikram Yoga class I took was in 2001. Summertime Phoenix was in full effect and the last thing I wanted to do was to be somewhere non air conditioned. At that time, I wasn't ready to dig deep enough to get past the external elements, not only in the hot room but in all aspects of my life. I started really practicing Bikram Yoga as a means to recover from a hip surgery in 2009. I just wanted to get back on stage as a dancer, but what I received from the Yoga was beyond what I could have imagined. I graduated from Bikram's Teacher Training in the fall of 2013 and soon after, took a teaching job in Cancun for three years where I met my beautiful husband. Life has a funny way of switching things up from the expected to the unexpected, and through this practice I find consistency. I just show up, do the best I can, and let the ride be as fun as possible. I'm thankful for my teachers, colleges and mentors, in and out of this industry; the many opportunities I've had to study under brilliant minds. All of the struggles conquered and the ones I continue to work through. Without these things, I wouldn't be able to connect as well to students, not only on an anatomical level, but on a humanistic level. These are some of the reasons I love what I do. We create opportunities to learn from each other, build community, strengthen ourselves inside and out and help make the world a better place. I hope to see you on your mat, on your best day, and hopefully on your worst! Just show up, do the work and see the magic that you are!
TEACHER - BIKRAM YOGA, BASIC YOGA, HOT HIIT
I started Bikram Yoga after some persistent pestering from my friend Ben Zorensky in 2005. I had suffered a pretty bad knee injury a few years before and was just not the same. I could not do a lot of the physical activities and sports that I loved so much and I was only 30 years old. My first class was a disaster and humbling. I was in good looking shape from working out, but my endurance, flexibility, balance, and focus were laughable. I actually did not return to my second class for almost exactly 1 year later! Something in my mindset had changed and I was much more receptive to the philosophy behind the practice. I am an anatomy and science geek. So the consistency and the movement behind the yoga asana series was something very concrete for me to believe in. After that second class I had a very different reaction than a year ago. Within 2 weeks I had made the arrangements to work at the front desk for yoga trade and to go to teacher training in the fall of 2006!
The yoga has transformed my physical being, my focus, my patience, and my empathy for others. The practice has allowed me to continue doing the activities I love like hiking, biking and camping. I have met so many wonderful people through working the front desk, teaching and practicing at so many great studios valleywide and worldwide! It is an awesome lifelong community of support. I met one particular person whom I am honored to call my wife and the mother of our little yogi daughter! Audrey inspires me as a teacher and as a husband everyday!
I love teaching and taking the 90 minute classic most. The other options are awesome too but I am a purist and I like the pace and sequence for what it is. My favorite pose is standing head to knee because I feel that single posture has taught me the most about myself and how to shape and refine my practice. Many people used to quote Bikram that that particular asana tells everything about a person and I understand now what that idea means at least for myself.
I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to work with many students, teachers and studios owners that I have great respect for and have helped coach and shape me into the teacher I am today. I also look forward to continued growth and understanding as a teacher and for my own practice. That is the beautiful thing about yoga to me....there is no finish line so the joy comes from the continued practice!

I have been practicing Bikram yoga for a little over 10 years. I went to teacher training in Fall 2009. I came across Bikram yoga when I was suffering from runners injuries in my knees, hips, and lower back. I also have Crohn's disease and had regular flare-ups and digestive complications. After my first class, I knew I needed this yoga so badly, mainly because it was so hard! I never struggled as much as I did in my first class..... or first 50 classes ;) but that's what drew me to it more. I was an athlete since a child and had been through some difficult training's while in the Air Force from 2003-2007, but nothing as challenging as hot yoga! Since I found a consistent practice in hot yoga, my Crohn's disease is in full remission without any medications. I also look leaner and longer than I ever did while running and lifting weights. Most of all, my body bounced right back after having my beautiful daughter, Harper! What inspires me most these days, are the students I get to teacher in and out of the hot room. I get the opportunity to watch people grow cognitively, physically, and spiritually everyday.
TEACHER - BASIC YOGA, HOT PILATES, HOT BARRE
My first Bikram class was in the Spring of 2013, one week before my 42nd birthday. It was the deepest, physical meditation I had ever experienced. My typical multi-tasking, "monkey-mind" was focused only on me; my breath, my body. I was present, in the moment and I was hooked. No matter how drained I felt after Dental Assisting, I always felt better after taking a class - physically, mentally and emotionally. So, I jumped at the opportunity to become a Karma Cleaner, in order to continue my practice for trade.
After 2 years of practice, and thanks to my supportive husband, I've changed careers after 18 years. I graduated from two different Yoga Teacher Training programs and earned my 200-Hour RYT from each one. Being a part of the first graduating class of OHM Yoga School in December of 2015 allowed me to come full circle and teach at the studio that changed my life, in Old Town Scottsdale. Recently, I have had the pleasure of teaching the kid's club at the Paradise Valley location as well. I know that each day I am a better person than I was yesterday, thanks to my yoga practice. I am grateful to pay that forward with each class I teach. See you on the mat!
TEACHER - HOT BARRE, HOT PILATES, POWER YOGA
Balancing the busy schedules of 3 kids, a full time career and finding time to fulfill my passion for health and fitness is not always easy. But, through Barre, Pilates and Yoga, I was able to find a great work out (and in) that satisfies mind, body and soul all in one! My desire to help others achieve their physical and mental health and fitness goals is what lead me to teaching. My teaching and personal practice philosophy is to challenge and help create change, while still being gentle with the body. Teaching allows me to share that practice with others. You can expect to leave my classes feeling like you lengthened, strengthened and worked your body and mind to your personal edge, with a strong focus on alignment and safety. I was Barre certified through Pilates Sports Center and Pilates certified through OHM School.

As a stay at home mom of three for almost 10 years, I was ready to find and get to know Gwen again. On a trip to the library with the kids, I grabbed a couple books off the shelf. One of them turned out to be Bikram's orange book. I read it, and began to teach myself the postures on our patio that summer. That (almost) daily practice got me through a very anxious time in my life. I have a lot of joint problems, and I noticed that they didn't hurt as much as when I had tried other forms of exercise. I felt so much stronger and noticed my body shaping up in a way I had never seen before!
I knew I wanted to practice at a real Bikram studio, so when an opportunity arose, I took it! After my first class, I remember feeling like this is what I was meant to do!
I began to reap the benefits of not only better physical health, but also a calm mind. I knew I wanted to become a teacher...someday...to help others feel the same benefits...however being away for an extended period of time was not an option. When OHM School announced teacher training, a path opened for me. Someday was NOW! I am honored and humbled to be part of this yoga family, and look forward to growing with you!
"Gratitude changes what you have into enough."

The thought of group fitness of any sort used to terrify me. I came to The Foundry shortly after moving to Arizona from Ohio in January 2017. I had tried a few Bikram classes before and wanted to see what this studio had to offer. Physical activity has always played an important part of my life and is the main way I combat the anxiety and depression that sometimes creeps in. Practicing at The Foundry changed everything! I immediately felt a sense of community and belonging at the studio and quickly got a membership. While I was always interested in yoga, I craved a more intense and sweaty workout, and Bikram delivered the best of both worlds. The Pilates classes were a great bonus, and once HIIT was introduced, I was completely hooked. I went through Hot HIIT teacher training in June 2018. I have been teaching at the Old Town studio since and love it. It is so rewarding to see my students evolve weekly and they constantly inspire me to create new challenges for them.
I graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor’s in Human Nutrition, Dietetics in 2014 and completed my combined Dietetic Internship (with a concentration in Leadership) and Masters of Science in Nutrition from Kent State University in 2016. Shortly after, I moved to Phoenix to work as a Registered Dietitian in Public Health. Teaching and training other nutrition professionals has become the primary part of my work and I love helping others connect to their community through nutrition counseling. Getting to share my passion for health and the human spirit has been such an amazing journey and it’s only the beginning!
TEACHER - BASIC YOGA
I started practicing Bikram Yoga in 2008. At first, I wasn’t consistent with my practice until I took part in my first 30-Day Challenge. That is when I realized during my commitment to my practice that I noticed my quality of life improved, physically, mentally, spiritually and emotionally.
Physically, I’m not that flexible, but with a consistent practice my body type has grown to be more flexible and stronger than ever!
Hot Yoga has given me the gift to be all the things I need to be to the people in my life, so much that I wanted to give back and go to teacher training and get certified. I received my 200-hour certification from OHM Yoga school.
I am so passionate about Hot Yoga because of the benefits you will receive.
TEACHER - BIKRAM YOGA
For the love of Bikram Yoga! I especially look forward to the final savasana where I often find myself in a state of divine peace. My Bikram practice has evolved from a physical challenge with my angry knees to so much more. I am drawn to the structure and consistency of the 90 minute Bikram series. It affords me balance and longevity with the activities and social work I do outside the hot room. When I can get out of my own way and into a meditative state, truly synchronizing movement with breath I let go and this is healing. I cannot tell you if I will reach the full expression of all the asanas like standing head to knee… in this lifetime but oh how I love to keep trying and believing in myself and all the incredible yogis who come to the Foundry and inspire. The human body mind spirit connection is simply amazing especially when we practice together. My truth is at the end of practice after all effort when I see my reflection in the mirror dripping in sweat no matter the rolls or wrinkles glowing back at me, I feel most beautiful. Bikram Yoga is for all. I want to share this healing yoga practice with the world one breath at a time.
I took a leap of faith, quit my day job at the time and dug into some retirement so I could attend Bikram Yoga teacher training Spring of 2015 in Thailand. I am so glad I did! Yoga teacher training has deepened my practice and continues to help me work though anxiety and fear of public speaking. We are all each other’s teachers and I am thankful for each and every one of you. The Foundry Community continues to provide a safe and supported space to grow. I’ve had the wonderful opportunity to participate in the 26 plus training with Gianna Purcell and The Body Love workshop with Casey Urban.
TEACHER - BASIC YOGA, BIKRAM YOGA, HOT PILATES
My yoga journey began in 1970. I practiced hatha yoga and meditation on and off over the years and in 2001 I found Bikram Yoga. The first 60 day challenge that I did about 6 six years ago absolutely changed my practice and it also changed my life.
I became a teacher in November 2012 at 70 years old. I am a different person now than I was when I started the yoga. I do not take any medications. I have no chronic illness that plague me, in fact I hardly ever get sick. I am physically strong, emotionally stable and experience a deep sense of spirituality and appreciation for my life. I know that if I can stay in the room on my mat and do my yoga, I can do anything that I put my mind and heart to. Since turning 70, I have attended 4 different trainings, Bikram Yoga Teacher Training, OHM School200-Hour RYT, Inferno Hot Pilates, and OHM Pilates Training. Nothing can stop me!!!
TEACHER - BIKRAM YOGA, BASIC YOGA
My yoga journey started in February 2007. A friend wrote Bikram Yoga on a napkin for me. Stating, this I right up your alley. I carried that napkin in my purse for 3 months before trying class. My first class was an amazing eye opening experience. So amazing that I went to training as soon as I was eligible. Fall 2007 was training. Loved every minute of it. To be immersed in yoga everyday for 9 weeks...come on...Amazing. I started yoga at age 43. Age is not a factor in Yoga.
Yoga has taught me patience, kindness, mindfulness, acceptance, self love and self realization. Also, the way it has helped with my extreme anxiety and panic attacks. I came from a very active background. Aerobics teacher to running and all the injuries and tight muscles that come from those activities. No words can even begin to express my “Love” for Yoga.
The Foundry (my Found Family) is simply the best ever. From the facilities, to the training and support. I have felt extremely blessed to be a part of this family. So excited for what the future holds.

In March of 2017, I was looking for a hot yoga studio closer to home; I came across The Foundry and it was my first Bikram experience. The changes that happened were and are truly amazing. Not exactly physical changes although those have happened; but aren’t nearly as impressive or valuable as the mental and emotional ones. Bikram gave me 90 minutes of peace, 90 minutes of no thoughts, no “what if’s”, no criticisms. It didn’t matter that it was hot, it didn’t matter that it was hard - what mattered is I got a mini vacation every day from the constant anxiety and frustration with me. And as each day passed I was able to extend that peace a little further out into my day. Going through the teacher training helped me find myself again; it awakened my passion and dreams. I found my path to follow. These classes are challenging yet forgiving all at the same time. And while life is no easier, I’m able to handle it and even enjoy it because my eyes are clear to see the joy all around. This yoga saved me from myself. The best part though, is that with all the above it is an experience that i get to have with the family involved! They get to watch the enjoyment Yoga brings to us as a family and how it has bled into all aspects of my life.

I has told most of my childhood that I wasn’t flexible. I learned to except it. I was an equestrian and in the dental field. Both being notorious for being hard on the body. I tried my first Bikram class in the summer of 2005. I was couldn’t do much, but I was hooked! I continued to come to class that summer. As I continued my studies at NAU, I would take a hot yoga class whenever I got a chance. From there on yoga was a part of my daily routine.
I went to Bikram Teacher Training in the spring of 2008. From there I wanted to continue to learn - I participated in two national yoga championships, completed advanced series training with Bikram, 26 plus with Gianna Purcell, Ashtanga training, and countless seminars. I enjoy learning and practicing all disciplines of yoga.
Yoga is my happy place. Yoga is part of me, it makes me a better mom, wife, person. It is where I find my peace, release my anger, and find my clarity. Yoga has helped my through three pregnancies, two bad snowboarding injuries, and most recently 2 hip surgeries. My body has healed very fast because of my consistent practice. Doctors continue to be impressed. But I can’t take credit for it, it is the yoga.
I hope I can continue to learn and share my practice with you. See you on the mat.

My first semester of college, I think I had an epiphany the first time I found myself drenched in my own sweat, endorphins going off like fireworks, laying in final Savasana at the Foundry; movement is healing. It’s cheesy but that feeling is what first made The Foundry feel like my place of solace. That inner mind-body-soul connection made by intentional movement is what allows me to evolve and grow throughout life’s ebbs and flows with ease and grace. I don’t have an athletic or dancer background (trust me on that one), but the true, real benefits of internal strength, energy and peace are what kept me coming back, day in and day out when I connected the power of awareness and intention with a daily yoga, Pilates, or HIIT practice. I’m a huge advocate for doing the things that remind you how good it feels to be alive... and the Foundry truly lit a fire under my butt that continues to grow into a lifelong gratitude, love and passion for movement and community. I currently only teach hot barre, but I am beyond excited to expand my teaching modalities and soon be certified in pilates and HIIT training! As the ancient Buddhist proverb goes.... when in doubt, sweat it out. Or something like that.
TEACHER - HOT HIIT
During college I was initially exposed to some yoga and later explored prenatal yoga classes. But it wasn’t until 2010 when I sought out my first ‘hot yoga’ class. During that time I was going through a divorce and found yoga helped me through the healing process as well as aiding my journey of growth and self discovery.
I started my regular practice at The Foundry in 2013, where I found much peace and comfort in the hot room and through the yoga practice. The life lessons I’ve learned while practicing at the studio have continued to serve as inspiration and motivation to keep coming back. As a lover of movement and music overall, I was immediately drawn to the HIIT classes that were later offered. I was so excited at the opportunity to also teach HIIT classes and hope to motivate and inspire others in the same way.
I grew up in so Cal and Las Vegas, went to college at CSU Long Beach and pharmacy school at UC San Francisco. I have been working full time as a clinical pharmacist for almost 14 years. I am grateful to be the momma of two wonderful daughters. Outside of the hot room I enjoy spending time with family and friends, engaging in travel adventures, music festivities, and being outdoors in general.

Lawyer by day, fun loving hot yoga and barre teacher on evenings and weekends. I took my first Bikram class in 2008 at the Bikram studio in Studio City. A now ex-boyfriend took me to my first class and while he didn’t make the cut, I’ll always feel grateful that he introduced me to the practice - one of the true loves of my life. My mat has seen me through plenty of tough times and there’s literally never been a day when I’ve said, “Man, going to yoga today was a mistake!” Time on my mat always makes my day better - whether it’s 45 minutes of booty kicking barre or 90 minutes of the hot sweaty goodness that is the 26 and 2. I’ve been teaching since 2013 and feel so blessed to part of the Foundry community!

Since Megan began her practice back in 2004, Bikram Yoga has carried her through many different seasons of life. Originally, it helped her to overcome years of eating disorders and depression. Megan has always used Bikram Yoga to stay in shape and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Bikram Yoga supported her through two pregnancies and helped her to have healthy homebirths. Today, as a busy homeschooling mom of two, Bikram Yoga provides an outlet and community for her outside of the home. Practicing yoga provides her with mental clarity, which helps her to balance all of her daily responsibilities.
Megan attended Bikram Yoga teacher training in Los Angeles in 2006. She was one of the owners of Bikram Yoga Rio Salado (now The Foundry Tempe-Mesa), and she continues to teach and practice there!
TEACHER - BIKRAM YOGA, 26 PLUS
First and foremost I am a student and dedicated practitioner of yoga since 2007. With a family history steeped in disease and a series of unfortunate events and accidents, yoga is the one constant that has repeatedly healed my body and mind, and kept me on a path of natural healing and health.
To me, teaching is just an extension of my personal practice. It is an opportunity for me to share the brilliance of the yoga and the limitlessness that is this adaptogen. For all bodies, shapes, ages, and backgrounds, I teach from a place of inclusion and growth.
